California Tow Operator Dead After Vehicle Rolls on Him While Loading

A tow operator was killed on Friday, November 15, in Ukiah, Calif., when a pickup he was loading onto his flatbed rolled over him.

The California Highway Patrol said Jesus Hernandez, 47, of Santa Rosa, was loading the disabled pickup on the shoulder of U.S. Route 101 and was found by emergency personnel. A report on The Mendocino Voice stated that the bed was lowered and the operator was on the ground beside the pickup, which was in neutral gear.

Hernandez died at the scene.
