Inductee #331

4

This past weekend, I attended the Tennessee Tow Show and activities scheduled for the International Towing Museum. It was a memorable weekend in so many ways.

I love visiting Chattanooga – lots of attractions like the Incline Railway and Ruby Falls, the people are so friendly and there’s no other place that makes better tasting sweet tea.

A fantastic 40th anniversary celebration was held at the Museum for Hall of Fame inductees.  I was and still am humbled to be in the Hall of Fame Class of 2018 and Inductee #331.

I attended training seminars on AI in towing with “Remember: You’re not behind, but now is the time to get ahead” and dispatching with a reminder to always keep that smile ready before answering the phone.

Twenty names were added to the Wall of the Fallen in the name unveiling ceremony. It’s so heart-breaking to hear of the loss of so many towers who were just out doing their jobs. Continuing to educate our industry for safety, and the motoring public to slow down or move over, is a must.

The Museum’s auction was held at Erlanger Park. While it was a chilly night, the bidding was hot and the fundraiser was a huge success. The Hall of Fame Class of 2026 induction ceremony was, also, held at the park.  I was honored to be asked to be the Scotland flag bearer.  The Hall of Fame Class of 2026 inductees truly are the best in the industry.

Nominations for the Hall of Fame Class of 2027 are now open.  I would encourage you to nominate that special someone who gives so much to our industry – it can even be yourself – and plan now to attend the Tennessee Tow Show next year. I know you too will have a memorable weekend.
