New York Police Department Tow Operator Dies at Wheel After Medical Episode

A tow operator with the New York Police Department traffic division died Monday, Dec. 2, after officials say he suffered a medical episode while driving.
According to news reports, police officials said NYPD driver Anthony Edgehill, 61, was driving in his light-duty tow truck at 5:51 p.m. in Brooklyn when he suffered the episode, possibly a heart attack. The tow truck left the roadway at slow speed and came to rest against a small tree near a business.
Edgehill was unconscious at the scene. Firefighters could not revive him.
