Tow Operator Struck and Killed on the Florida Turnpike

A Florida tow operator was killed Thursday, Nov. 10, on the Florida Turnpike in Orange County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the operator, a 42-year-old man from Poinciana, was assisting at a single-vehicle crash. He was outside of his truck with his warning lights activated, and a FHP trooper with lights activated was also at the scene.
At approximately 5:44 a.m., a Lake County man driving a 2000 Isuzu Hombre lost control of his vehicle and struck the tow truck and the operator.
The operator and the driver of the Isuzu were both pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Isuzu suffered minor injuries.
Police are investigating the incident.
