Florida Tow Operator Struck/Killed on I-95 in Miami

The Florida Highway Patrol has reported that a male tow operator was struck and killed early Saturday morning, November 18, while assisting a stranded motorist on Interstate 95 in Miami.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on southbound I-95 near State Road 112.
The FHP said the operator’s truck was parked on the right shoulder. As he stood outside of the disabled vehicle, the operator and the tow truck were struck by an oncoming Nissan SUV.
There were no other injuries reported.
The SUV driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Police are currently searching for the driver and investigating the incident.
The identity of the tow operator has yet to be released.
