Tow Operator Killed in Castaic, Calif. Traffic Crash

A tow operator was killed in a traffic crash Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Castaic, Calif.
The operator, a 63 year-old Ventura man whose name is being withheld pending notification of kin, was driving a flatbed tow truck on the northbound 5 Freeway at approximately 12:00 a.m., when his truck collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer also traveling in the northbound lanes.
The crash is under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. Alcohol or drugs are not considered to be factor.
