South Carolina Tow Operator Dies After Hitting Parked Car

News reports state that a tow operator was killed Tuesday, July 14, when his tow truck crashed into a parked car on I-26 in Newberry County, S.C.
Zachery Fennessy, 28, of Goose Creek was driving east at approximately 4:15 p.m. when his tow truck went off the right side of the road and struck a car parked in the emergency lane near mile marker 80. The tow truck then continued off the road and hit a tree, authorities said.
Fennessy was ejected from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
The Newberry County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
