Tow Operator Struck and Killed in Connecticut

A tow operator was killed April 22 after being struck by a vehicle near Trumbull, Conn.

Corey John Iodice, 58, of Seffner, Fla., was operating a flatbed tow truck for Iodice Family Transport of Fairfield.

According to news reports, Iodice was loading a disabled vehicle on the bed when a 48 year-old Weston, Conn., man lost control of his vehicle and hit the disabled vehicle and another vehicle that was was on the scene. The out-of-control vehicle then traveled up the flatbed’s deck and hit Iodice.

The vehicle then rolled onto its roof and came to a rest on the shoulder of the highway.

Two men who were on the scene and the driver of the vehicle were evaluated by medical personnel and declined to be hospitalized.

Iodice was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident.
