Texas Tow Operator Struck and Killed by Intoxicated Motorist

A tow operator was struck and killed Monday night by an intoxicated motorist on the Dallas High 5 interchange in North Dallas, Texas.

Operator Garry McGee, 35, of Fort Worth, was hooking up a disabled vehicle on the ramp from Interstate 635 to the Central Expressway at approximately 10 p.m. when the vehicle was hit from behind by an SUV, Dallas police said.

The tow truck’s lights were activated at the time.

McGee was knocked over a railing, fell approximately 50 feet to the roadway below and was hit by several vehicles.

The driver of the SUV, 35-year-old Denise Chantel Alford, is facing charges of intoxication manslaughter.
