Mississippi Tow Operator Killed in Traffic Crash Identified

The Mississippi tow truck driver who was killed in a traffic crash Thursday, April 25, has been identified as Michael Buffington, 37, of Richland. Buffington was behind the wheel of a tow truck on an elevated U.S. 49 ramp beside Interstate 20 in Pearl, Miss.
A news report stated that traffic was busy during the rush hour of nearby Jackson, and the tow truck and another vehicle were involved in a crash at a busy intersection on the ramp, which caused the tow truck to fall from the ramp onto a grassy area below.
It was not known if there were injuries to the occupants of the second vehicle.
The crash is being investigated.
