Massachusetts Tow Operator Dies in Traffic Crash
A tow operator was killed on Friday evening, Nov. 21, in a traffic crash in Freetown, MA.
Massachusetts State Police responded to the crash at approximately 6 p.m.
According to authorities, the operator’s tow truck was traveling in the left travel lane of an overpass on Route 149 South when another vehicle struck it. The impact propelled the tow truck off the overpass and it fell to the roadway, Washburn road, below.
The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck the tow truck remained at the scene and received no injuries.
The crash is being investigated by the Freetown police, the Bristol County District Attorney’s office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction teams.
The operator has yet to be identified.
