Kentucky Tow Operator Struck and Killed by Commercial Truck on I-64

A Kentucky tow operator was struck and killed Wednesday, September 25, on I-64 in Bath County.

Operator Troy Caldwell, 54, of Morehead, KY, was loading a disabled vehicle onto a flatbed tow truck near mile marker 124 when a westbound commercial truck hit him.

State police received a call about the incident at 5:17 p.m.

Caldwell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

After investigation, police charged the driver of the commercial vehicle, Shodmon Yuldashev, 29, of Brooklyn, N.Y., with tampering with physical evidence in connection with the crash. Details regarding how Yuldashev tampered with evidence was not released with law enforcement’s report.

The report stated that Caldwell was operating a tow truck owned by Jerry’s Towing of Morehead.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
