Connecticut Tow Operator Struck and Injured on I-291

A tow operator was struck and injured Friday, Oct. 28, on I-291 in Manchester, Conn.

According to news reports, operator Norman Sparrow was on the side of the road at approximately 9:45 a.m. wearing reflective garments and with emergency lights activated when a vehicle in the lane closest to him failed to move over and struck him.

Sparrow complained of back pain and was taken to Hartford Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Sparrow was uninjured and cited for failing to observe the state’s Move Over law.
