Canadian Tow Operator Struck and Killed While Assisting Motorist

A 39-year-old tow operator was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle Saturday, December 27, in Southwestern Ontario, Canada.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the operator, who was from Richmond Hill, was struck while assisting a motorist on Wellington Road 26 near Guelph.

The operator was taken to a hospital with “major life-threatening injuries” before being pronounced deceased on Monday, December 29.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the operator received minor injuries.

The incident is under investigation.

Police have asked that anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage to contact OPP investigators or Crime Stoppers.
