Update: Canadian Tow Operator Killed in Hit-And-Run While Assisting Motorist
A tow operator was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver shortly after 7 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, on westbound Highway 401 in Blandford-Blenheim, Ontario, Canada.
Authorities determined that the operator was assisting a stranded motorist when he was struck by a passing vehicle that did not remain at the scene.
The operator, a 42-year-old Kitchener man who is yet to be identified, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the collision and are asking anyone with any information or dash cam footage to contact them by calling 1-888-310-1122.
Update: The Ontario Provincial Police has reported that they have located a commercial truck as a vehicle of interest in the crash and have identified the truck driver.
