California Tow Operator Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run

A tow operator was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday morning, October 7, on the 110 Freeway in Los Angeles.

Operator Carlos Trejo, Jr., 57, was on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes at the West Florence exit when a vehicle struck him at approximately 1:35 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene and later found the suspect’s vehicle, but the suspect remains at large.

Trejo was pronounced dead at the scene.
