California Tow Operator Struck and Killed by Impaired Driver

A 22-year old tow operator was struck and killed Thursday, October 16, while assisting a stranded motorist on Highway 99 in Delano, Calif.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the operator was standing beside his truck when a Mazda SUV veered from the slow lane and crashed into the tow truck and the operator, who is from Tulare, Calif.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was arrested for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

The tow operator’s identity has yet to be released.
