Blame It on the Weather

I haven’t gotten anything done on my to do list today. Frustration has set in and I just want to go home. Not sure who or what to blame so I am blaming it on the weather, which is in the 90s with humidity so high you just sit and sweat. If you’re in a state where this weather is common, remember I live in Wisconsin, and most Wisconsin towers will tell you they can’t work in this heat for more than a day or two.

To tell you the truth, I’m not even working outside. I’m in an air-conditioned office and feel a little guilty sending my employees out to work in this heat. I don’t blame them for giving me “the look” when I let them know I have a call for them. If I think I’m having a bad day, so are they.

When a motorist’s vehicle breaks down he or she is definitely having a bad day and sometimes even though we show up to help them, the tow operator gets the third degree about not only that the customer’s vehicle is down, but all the other problems customers are facing in their world — late for work, one of the kids is sick, etc.

I was once advised that when frustration sets in to step away from my desk, close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. Okay, I followed that suggestion and while I feel a bit better, I think I’ll go and get that Dilly Bar I have in the freezer. Nothing like chocolate and ice cream to create a better mood in the summer time … and that too I’m blaming on the weather.
