I Hope They Know

My husband and I own our towing company, but it’s our hard working and exceptional employees who keep our business going. We don’t always let them know that, though. We don’t always let them know how appreciated they are.

I come into the office day-in and day-out doing my own work. While I know this business can change by the minute with one phone call, I’m always glad when I don’t have anything major happen during the day. I’m glad when I can finally shut down the computer and head home, and that my employees can head home too.

The 17th annual Wall of the Fallen Name Unveiling Ceremony will be held on October 11, 2025, at the International Towing Museum in Chattanooga. It’s an emotional ceremony, bringing home not only to the families that have lost a loved one, but to  towing company owners like me exactly what the article “Honoring Industry Heroes — 17th Annual Wall of the Fallen Name Unveiling” in the September issue of Tow Times magazine states — that each name is “a reminder of the sacrifice and courage that define this often-overlooked profession.”

I hope my employees know that I pray daily for their safety while working out on the roadways. I pray that they remember to keep their head on a swivel watching for distracted drivers. That they listen for any warning sounds different from normal traffic.

No, I don’t hope they know. I’m going to let them know.

My wish is for you to do the same.
