New York Tow Operator Struck and Killed in Bay Shore

A New York tow operator was struck and killed while loading a disabled vehicle Tuesday, April 15 in Bay Shore, NY.

Operator Richard Rodriguez, 32, of Freeport, was on the shoulder of the Sunrise Highway at approximately 1:40 p.m. when he was struck by a passing car.

According to police, the driver who struck Rodriguez then crossed several lanes of traffic and hit the center median.

Rodriguez was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car, Anthony Licalzi of  Massapequa, was uninjured.
