Canadian Tow Operator Dies from Medical Distress at Crash Scene

According to news reports, a tow operator died on July 12 after suffering medical distress at the scene of a collision near Oro-Medonte in south-central Ontario, Canada.

Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police responded to the scene at approximately 5 a.m. The driver of the crash vehicle was hospitalized with minor injuries and later charged with impaired driving.

Tow operator Wayne (Sampson) Whitechurch, 71, of Oro-Medonte, also responded to the scene and reportedly went into medical distress unrelated to the crash.

He was taken to a hospital and pronounced deceased.
