Waze Can be Part of Your Roadside Safety Plan

The towing industry is currently working to get Waze and others to alert motorists to the presence of tow trucks and other emergency vehicles on the side of the road. Maybe you have considered HAAS devices or other solutions. For now, there is a way to make motorists aware of your presence on the roadside. Each time you pull up to a scene, simply open the Waze app and report a vehicle on the shoulder of the road. It takes less than 10 seconds. Click the Alert icon, choose the hazard indicator and select “shoulder” followed by “vehicle stopped.”

Submitting this information tells Waze your exact location and users of Waze will be notified of your presence as they approach the scene.

This is not the ideal solution, but is a good way to make some drivers aware of your presence until time that automated tools can be put into place that create these alerts.
