USAC/MD Raises Over $16,700 for The Survivor Fund

The month of April means two things in our industry, the Florida Tow Show and the Annual USAC/MD Charity Golf Classic. This year TomTom Telematics became a co-title sponsor of the event which raised more than $15,000 for the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum’s Survivor Fund. Over 60 road service professionals are killed each year assisting stranded motorists on the side of busy roadways. The Survivor Fund assists the families of those who lose their lives while performing these critical services.

“We had a great tournament this year,” said Staley Cash, President of USAC/MD. “The weather was perfect, the course was in great condition and as always, almost 100 golfers came out to support our tournament, which was our 12th annual. We are also very excited to have TomTom step up as a co-title sponsor. I would like to personally thank them, and all the other sponsors for their continued support of this great cause.”

The tournament is held each year at the Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Fla., in conjunction with the Florida Tow Show and draws golfers from around country. Over the years, the tournament has become an event where long-time industry colleagues come together, share stories and win bragging rights until the next year.

Jeffery Godwin, ITRHFM partner Board Member and Survivor Fund Committee Chair, said, “This year the tournament added TomTom as a sponsor and the result was fantastic. As the partnership between USAC/MD, TomTom and the Survivor Fund continues we are certain the tournament will grow, golf games will improve and the families of our fallen will benefit from the generous fundraising associated with this annual event.”
