Tow Operator Follows Suspected Hit-And-Run Driver, Alerts Authorities

A Texas tow operator is being credited with possibly leading police to a hit-and-run driver who reportedly struck and killed a pedestrian in north Houston on Sunday, May 19.

According to news reports, the victim, and older man, was killed at approximately 10:30 p.m. as he crossed a roadway on the North Freeway. The vehicle that struck him sped from the scene.

A tow operator who witnessed the incident followed the suspected hit-and-run driver to a residence approximately three miles from where the pedestrian was hit.

Investigators arrived at the home and reportedly found a vehicle with a cracked windshield. The person who was identified as the driver of the vehicle was detained and questioned.

Police are further investigating the incident.
