Tow Company Owner Receives Real Hero of the Road Award for Life-Saving Actions

New Jersey towing company owner Mike Benson of Powder Mill Towing in Parsippany was presented a AAA “Real Hero of the Road” award for his actions after an elementary school bus crash last year.
After the bus attempted to make a U-turn on I-80 in May 2018, it was hit by a dump truck. A teacher and student died and dozens were injured.
Benson witnessed the crash and rushed to the scene, freeing children from the bus and saving the life of one child by performing CPR.
The Real Hero of the Road award is sponsored by Ford and AAA.
The New Jersey Department of Health recently present Benson with an Outstanding EMS Action by a Citizen award.
