sureEcosystem Announces Partnership with HAAS Alert

sureEcosystem has announced a partnership agreement with HAAS Alert, a collision prevention service that delivers real-time digital alerts to motorists.

HAAS Alert’s mission is to prevent first responder collisions and struck-by incidents by delivering real-time safety alerts and messages to connected cars and drivers as they approach or encounter incidents.

“Distracted driving continues to be a major issue on roadways as tow truck operators and other responders put their lives at risk when responding to roadside incidents,” said Jeff Holland, sureEcosystem Purchasing Program Director. “HAAS Alert provides an innovative approach of signaling connected drivers that a tow truck or emergency responder is on the roadway ahead, allowing ample time for the driver to slow down and move over.”

The agreement between HAAS Alert and sureEcosystem provides benefits and opportunities for sureEcosystem members who can equip the system at a preferential rate. When tow truck operators, first responders or other HAAS Alert-equipped vehicles are transmitting digital alerts, notifications are delivered through the Waze navigation app to motorists in proximity.

Digital alerts are real-time notifications delivered to navigation apps on smartphones and in-vehicle navigation systems when responders are en-route or on-scene. Alerts are intended to notify motorists in advance to allow them more time to slow down, move over and make safer decisions.
