Ohio Tow Truck Driver Killed in Florida Traffic Crash

News reports and the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) state that a 24-year-old Cleveland, OH, man driving a tow truck was killed Monday, July 24, on the Poinciana Parkway in Kissimmee.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the operator was hauling a Mercedes-Benz when his northbound truck struck a water tanker truck driving from the median of a construction zone.  According to the FHP, the front left of the tow truck struck the rear of the water truck and the tow truck driver was ejected from his vehicle. It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt.

Tbe 65-year-old driver of the water tanker was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Tbe crash is under investigation.
