Missouri Tow Operator Injured in I-70 Crash

A tow operator was struck by a vehicle Monday at approximately 6 p.m. as he loaded a disabled vehicle on the shoulder of I-70 in Callaway County, Mo.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, operator Ryan Brewer, 25, of Fulton was loading a vehicle near mile marker 151 when a driver traveled onto the shoulder and hit the rear of the vehicle being loaded, then Brewer.

Brewer was airlifted to University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle that struck Brewer was taken from the scene by ambulance with moderate injuries. The driver of the disabled vehicle was uninjured.

A report stated that both vehicles were totaled, and the tow truck was driven from the scene.
