Miller Industries Offers New Shipping Container Transport Package

Miller Industries Towing Equipment Inc. now offers a Container Transport Package for their 16 and 20-Series LCG^™? carriers. This new container package features a hydraulic chain-drive system providing a powered method for loading and offloading 10- and 20-foot shipping containers. The package also integrates container-specific securement devices that allow for simple and secure over-the-road transport.

The incorporated hydraulic chain drive system is recessed in the center of the carrier deck and is an industry first with an equipped push bar that gives an operator a simple way to push a shipping container off the truck’s deck without relying solely on gravity to offload the container. When hoisting a container, an included chain bridle securely connects to both the container and to the center chain drive for a quick and safe hoist onto the deck of the truck. The included chain bridle and push bar accommodate all standard shipping container connection points.

Carriers equipped with the Container Transport Package must be 26 feet long, and will receive a specialized chain drive system, container guide rails, two floor reinforcement drag bars, two front stop pins and four self-aligning lock pins that make securing the shipping container for transport both efficient and safe. An under-deck hydraulic dock stabilizer is equipped with rolling wheels that allow operators to drive the carrier from underneath a container while still supporting the back of the carrier. An added wireless remote allows for operator flexibility when loading and unloading shipping containers.
