Michigan Tow Operator Dies in Traffic Crash

A tow operator died Tuesday, Aug. 31, after police said he failed to stop for a red light and crashed into a tractor-trailer in Dearborn, Mich.

Police said the operator, a 55-year-old Lincoln Park man, was exiting eastbound I-94 at approximately 1 p.m. when he hit the semi. The operator and a 67-year-old passenger were ejected from the tow truck. The operator died at the scene. The passenger suffered serious injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.

The crash is under investigation.
