Michigan Tow Operator Almost Hit by Passing SUV

A Michigan tow operator was almost hit by a passing SUV on September 16 as he prepared to tow a vehicle in Rochester Hills.

As operator Dawson Voorhis stepped toward the roadside, the approaching SUV crossed the white line, missing Voorhies by approximately two feet. The vehicle then struck Voorhis’ tow truck, partially running up the lowered bed, which caused the SUV to go airborne and roll multiple times.

The SUV driver reportedly told police he was looking at his radio when he veered toward the white line and struck the tow truck. He was cited for careless driving.
