Maryland Tow Operator Struck, Killed

A tow operator was struck and killed Wednesday, Sept. 9, on the side of Route 50 in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Maryland State Police say operator Jose Maria Zuniga, 76, was picking up a vehicle when he was hit by the mirror of a passing car at approximately 9:25 p.m.

The driver of the car that hit Zuniga was taken to a hospital and released. Two passengers in the car were uninjured.

Police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made pending the investigation.
