South Dakota’s Move Over Month Honors Fallen Tow Operator

In February, the South Dakota legislature finalized a resolution naming the month of June as Move Over Month in the state.

The resolution honors the memory of Watertown, S.D., tow operator Dale Jones, 47, who was struck by a vehicle and killed on January 4 as he was assisting a motorist.

The month of June was selected because Jones was born on June 10.

To further honor Jones, a truck by-pass route in Watertown was renamed the Dale Jones Memorial Parkway.
