Injured California Tow Operator Identified

The tow operator who was seriously injured in a crash that occurred Sunday, Feb. 23 in Riverside County, Calif., has been identified as Enrique Ramirez Sanchez, 49, of Banning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Sanchez, of Statewide Towing, was standing on the left side of his tow truck recovering a vehicle from a previous roll-over crash when a Toyota Corolla driven by Marcella Carranza of Riverside, 29, went out of control and crashed into a median wall. The vehicle then crossed the roadway to the right shoulder and struck Sanchez and the tow truck.
Sanchez suffered major injuries and was taken to Riverside University Health Systems Hospital by ambulance.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
