First Two Recipients of the Garden State Towing Association’s Mary Leigh Barbusin Scholarship Fund
The Garden State Towing Association (GSTA) has announced the first two recipients of its Mary Leigh Barbusin Scholarship Fund.
The scholarship fund was established in honor of the GSTA’s longtime executive director Mary Leigh Barbusin. The scholarships assist GSTA members’ children who wish to pursue a college education or technical degree at an accredited technical/vocational school or two-year or four-year college or university.
The association congratulates the first two recipients of this scholarship. Dylan Fitter is the son of Brian Fitter, who recently celebrated 15 years of employment at Nick’s Towing Service in Rutherford, NJ, and has been involved in towing for more than 25 years. Dylan is attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA, this fall. He will be spending his first year abroad in London, England.
Otari Kharchilava, whose father Nicholas is an employee of Tumino’s Towing in Elizabeth, NJ, notes that his dad is the hardest working person he knows, and this scholarship will assist in alleviating the financial expense of a college degree. Otari is currently enrolled at Rutgers University in aerospace engineering.
The scholarships are presented based on academic potential, financial need and special circumstances without reference to race, creed, gender, disability, religion or national origin.
