California Tow Operator Struck, Seriously Injured

A tow operator was seriously injured Saturday, May 16, after being stuck by a vehicle in Chula Vista, Calif.
According to a news report, the 25-year old male operator, who has not been identified, was towing a vehicle when he stopped in the westbound lane of East Palomar Street at approximately 10:45 p.m. As the operator stood in the roadway, an SUV traveling in the westbound lane hit the tow truck and the operator.
The SUV flipped onto its side. Its driver and a passenger received minor injuries. The tow operator was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital.
The driver of the SUV was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police are investigating the incident.
