California Tow Operator Struck and Killed in Hit-And-Run

A tow operator was struck and killed Saturday, May 13, on Highway 101 in San Jose, CA.
The male operator, who has yet to be identified, reportedly pulled over to the right shoulder at approximately 11:47 p.m., exited the tow truck and walked into traffic lanes in an apparent attempt to retrieve something in the roadway.
He was struck by a white Toyota Rav4, which left the scene.
The operator reportedly is an employee of Alongi Bros Incorporated of San Jose.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and asks anyone with information, specifically the driver of the Rav4 and the location of the vehicle, which is believed to be a 2010 base model, to contact the San Jose Area CHP Office at (408) 961-0900.
