A Pair of Jeans That Fit Just Right

38

My Mom didn’t wear jeans because she said she wore them when she went out to work in the barn. I didn’t start wearing jeans until I was in high school. Bell bottoms and hip hugger jeans were popular then.

You’re probably wondering what a great fitting pair of jeans has to do with towing. Nothing really. As I was putting on my jeans the song “Chicken Fried from the Zac Brown Band came to mind and a reminder that while we are told it’s the most wonderful time of the year, for many the stress, loss of a loved one, worry, anxiety and what’s all happening in our world doesn’t relay that.

My wish for you this holiday season is to reflect on the little things in life that are gifts to you – most often these are not wrapped in shiny paper with a bow.

Here are some of the lyrics from the song Chicken Fried, I think they have a great message and reminder of what we really should be grateful for.

[Verse 2]
It’s funny how it’s the little things in life
That mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive
Or the price tag on your clothes

There’s no dollar sign on a piece of mind
This I’ve come to know
So if you agree, have a drink with me
Raise your glasses for a toast

 [Chorus]
And a little bit of chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I’ve seen the sun rise
See the love in my woman’s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother’s love

Safe travels and, like a pair of jeans that fit just right, continued blessings of the little things for the New Year.
