Life Is Not Always About Towing

While we are an industry of serving the motoring public 24/7/365, that doesn’t mean we don’t have other interests, hobbies or passions outside of work. I believe to keep one’s sanity, we need to have an outside interest or hobby. I was reminded of this from a tower who is a ham radio enthusiast and his post about an upcoming amateur radio swapmeet.

Research shows having a hobby has the following benefits:

Boosting Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills

Enhancing Mental Health and Emotional Well-being

Developing New Skills and Knowledge

Building a Sense of Community

Promoting Physical Health

Hobbies as a Form of Self-Care

Whether you’re painting, running, writing, learning a new language, playing pick-up basketball, crocheting, putting puzzles together or basket weaving, hobbies can enrich your life in countless ways; they remind us of the joy of simply doing something we love to do.

I love to do crossword and word search puzzles. If you haven’t brought out those knitting needles lately, I suggest you go look for them. Your mind, body and soul will thank you for it.
