TRAA Announces Nomination for Administrator of Wage and Hour Division of the DOL Failed to Advance

The Towing and Recovery Association of America (TRAA) has announced that Dr. David Weil’s nomination to lead the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor has failed to advance in the Senate.
“The rejection of Dr. Weil’s nomination is positive news for small businesses across the country since he has a track record of trying to eliminate independent contractor status and promoting employee status,” the release states.
“As we reported in February, TRAA joined a trucking, transportation, and towing industry coalition to oppose Dr. David Weil’s nomination. The coalition sent a letter to Senate leadership urging them to reject Dr. Weil’s appointment.”
