A Wyoming tow operator was struck and killed April 3 at milepost 184 on Interstate 80 east of Wamsutter, Wyoming.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, operator and Wamsutter resident Kirby Lugg, 45, was recovering a vehicle in the median at approximately 3:10 a.m. when a 1995 Kenworth driven by Edgar F. Echeverria, 41, of Texas lost control of his truck and it veered to the right. He reportedly over-corrected, causing the truck to overturn and enter the median, striking the tow truck and Lugg.
Lugg was transported to Memorial Hospital in Carbon County and died from his injuries.
Echeverria, who was not wearing a seatbelt, also died in the crash.
The driver of the disabled vehicle was taken to Memorial Hospital with injuries.
Driving too fast for conditions is a possible contributing factor in the crash, police said.
