Florida Tow Operator Struck and Killed North Lauderdale

Tawanda Hanberry, 38, of North Lauderdale, was driving a Lincoln SUV eastbound, approaching the tow truck driver. She lost control of the vehicle, which slid rotating clockwise southbound toward the operator, striking him.
The operator was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The tow truck driver’s name was withheld under Marsy’s Law, which allows victims of crimes to shield their names and identifying information from the public.
Hanberry remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The incident is under investigation.
