Bad Moods, Bad Jokes and Sunsets
“Bad mood” doesn’t really describe how I’ve been feeling lately. I don’t even like myself right now. I should warn people by putting a DO NOT DISTURB note on my office door.
You know when you’re in a bad mood and people try to get you to smile with a bad joke or corny statement? You end up smiling — and then want to say, “Go, and leave me alone.”
I spoke to a tow lady friend yesterday. I told her about how crabby I’ve been and she said something must be going around because she felt the same way. We decided stress didn’t have anything to do with it — yeah right. We also decided the full harvest moon was really the problem.
When I go home from the shop I drive west and see the most beautiful sunsets — full of magnificent oranges, pinks and purples. It’s hard to stay in a bad mood when the sky is like a big, beautiful painting. Experiencing this gift is not only witnessing something wonderful, it’s a reality check telling me to let it go.
