AAA Launches Slow Down, Move Over Campaign
Also Donates $50,000 to the Survivor Fund
AAA launched a #SlowDownMoveOver campaign and donated a total of $50,000 to the International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum‘s Survivor Fund, which helps the families of fallen tow operators.
Jeffrey Godwin, of the Survivor Fund, was on hand to accept donations of $25,000 each from the AAA Auto Club Group and AAA National Office.
“I am confident AAA efforts will save lives, and their support of the Survivor Fund will allow us to help even more when tragedy strikes,” Godwin said.
Linda Unruh, a former towing company owner in New Mexico who lost son Bobby in a roadside accident in 2017, gave a moving speech. “We’re going to launch the most amazing journey on saving lives.”
AAA plans to officially roll out its Slow Down-Move Over campaign in January to its auto clubs around the country, including a video to drive home the roadside message.
“Our ask today is very simple: make sure friends and family know about this,” said AAA President Marshall Doney. “I urge you all to slow down, move over. It’s going to save lives.”
