Be a Watering Can

160

I love this time of year. I think the purpose of the season of Spring is to bring the hope of new life after a long winter. I sometimes wonder how all the green plants and flowers can survive, pop out of the hard dirt and blossom — providing us beauty and the hope that we too can survive.

Do you ever think about why you were put on this earth? About your purpose in life?

Was it to own your own successful towing business? Write a best-selling novel? Or climb Mount Everest? I don’t think there is a correct answer, but perhaps we could look at it as: how are we to live in a way that fulfills our purpose?

We need to constantly evolve, adapt, learn and grow. To explore our passions, values, strengths to help create a fulfilling and meaningful existence. I think one’s happiness is a by-product of fulfilling our purpose.

For most of us towers, one of the reasons or purpose we are in this business is the opportunity to help people. Not only to help a stranded motorist, but to help others in our industry to grow themselves. I look at it as me being like a watering can to others.

If what I have evolved, adapted, learned and grown as a person in all the years I have been in this business will help others to blossom, then I know I have sown some good seeds and have been there with my watering can along the way.

Our world and industry have a lot of weeds. Plant those seeds in others, and then be a watering can to help them blossom to fulfill their own purpose in life.
