The Towing and Recovery Association of America, Inc. ® (TRAA) held its biennial elections for all executive cabinet positions and the results were announced at the conclusion of TRAA’s Annual General Membership Meeting, April 12 in Orlando, Fla.

Joanne Blyton of Montana was elected TRAA’s first female president.

“It’s taken 40 years, but TRAA finally has a woman sitting in the president’s seat,” states a TRAA press release. “Joanne Blyton is exceptionally qualified for the position of president having served on TRAA’s executive cabinet as 1st VP from 2015 to 2019 and 4th VP from 2009 to 2011. Outside of the towing industry, she previously served as a republican member of the Montana House of Representatives from 2011 to 2014. Joanne currently serves on CTTA’s T-ROC and represents TRAA during FHWA Executive Leadership Group (ELG) meetings which include members from all incident management disciplines.”

The election results for TRAA’s other executive cabinet positions were Vaughn Gobel (1st VP), George Kuntz (2nd VP), Tom Brennan (3rd VP), Kevin Fox (4th VP), Michael Wildman (Treasurer) and Jeffrey Godwin (Associate Representative).

TRAA thanks each member who voted in this year’s election — a record turnout, the association said.
