South Carolina Sheriff’s Deputy Seriously Injured, Tow Operator Missing After Bridge Crash

According to news reports, the deputy was assisting the driver of a disabled vehicle when he was struck by a passing vehicle. His vehicle was also damaged.

Authorities are searching for a tow operator who is unaccounted for after the crash and may have been pushed off the bridge and fell into the river below.

The Coast Guard is searching for the operator, and helicopters from the Coast Guard and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office are participating in the search.
