The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a tow operator has died from injuries 10 days after he was hit by a pickup on the shoulder of Interstate 244 in Tulsa.

Troopers said that on October 2 at approximately 6:50 p.m., Curtis Kelsey, 70, was working on a disabled vehicle east of Mingo Road when  a driver in a 2007 Dodge Ram pickup failed to move over. The pickup struck Kelsey and the tow truck.

Kelsey was taken to a nearby hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pickup was not injured and “was likely driving under the influence of alcohol,” authorities said.
