Update: Georgia Tow Operator Struck and Killed in Columbus

The tow operator who was struck and killed Friday night, December 2, in Columbus, Ga., has been identified as Jonathan Begley, 41, who worked for Griffin and Griffin Towing of Columbus.
The incident occurred on an entrance ramp to JR Allen Parkway from Moon Road.
Begley was loading a Georgia State Trooper’s disabled vehicle when he was hit.
He was pronounced dead at 10:49 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Begley remained on the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
