Oct 12th, 2010 | By | Category: National News

Dozens of tow truck drivers from all over the Bellevue and surrounding Washington area gathered Saturday, page October 9, more about to honor the life of William Tony Padilla, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver while responding to a call on Sept. 24.

The event began at Eastlake Park and Ride in Bellevue, where a tow truck procession then led the way from Bellevue to Seattle across I-90 to a memorial service in Seattle, also attended by a large group of tow truck drivers, friends and family, according to a news report. Padilla’s obituary was read in a brief memorial ceremony.

His ashes will be carried back to Arizona by his brother David, where he will be laid to rest next to his dad on his birth date in February, the report states. Padilla’s name will also be placed in the National Towing Museum in Chattanooga, Tenn., on the Wall of the Fallen, which honors those who have lost their lives in the towing and recovery service.
